Official Squatch Watchers

Good morning. :frow

Woke up to bad news on the morning news.

Apparently there was a shooting at the park just a couple blocks from me. There are 2 victims.
They didn't say it was a fatal shooting but they DID say the perp fled the scene and they don't know who it was.
:barnie Great now we have a nut with a gun in the hood.
:barnie:barnie
Lock your doors!

I read a study about that! After tonsil removal, strep went from 4 a year to 1 on average.

I hope you did not have to fight too much to get the tonsils out
It was a dark time. That insurance company didn’t want to pay and she had to have it x number of times within a certain timeframe before they’d review it.

Twice we got to within arms reach and she’s make it like an extra week or two and then we’d have to start all over again.

She was sick almost nonstop from age 3 to six.

Me too. :(

I have lots to do before the rain that's coming our way. I don't want some idiot with a gun making me even more nervous about being out front.
I already have the creepy creeper across the street.
:barnie

I guess I could strap the 9mm on but holy taters WHY SHOULD GARDENING INVOLVE A GUN!?!

Hubs doesn't want me in the from garden as it is because of the creep across the street. :hmm

Heavy sigh....I hope someone in my house wins that tatering lotto. I would be country bound in a heartbeat.
Which country?:lau:gig:lau
Maybe we’ll all come!

Jk. Jeez. Stay inside today.
Surely the gardening can wait.
Do some laundry or something instead.

That is awful!

I will stick to the back yard with a lock on the gate and 4 dogs with me.......no pistol.

It just taters me off that they (the police) didn't do a neighborhood notification. I bet they know who it was.......

Need your help while we’re hiding from the bad guys.

Remember the nextdoor neighbor with the neglected rabbits?

Saturday she posted in her fb page that she had hit a dog on her way to work at 6:30 am.

“Right in front of its owner no less! Not a great way to start my morning!” Followed by an Angry face emoji.

For CRYING OUT LOUD!
How about the POOR DOG?
Or the owner?!?

(Yes there are leash laws here , but at 6:30 am on a Saturday, I’d say it’s pretty safe -generally- to take your dog outside to pee while you’re still in your pjs.

Hardly any cars going up and down the road.
*other than this one woman heading to work at the hospital who always leaves late juggles her phone and a giant mug of coffee while steering with her knees and drives like a bat out of hell in a 25 mph neighborhood.
By the time she’s four houses up the street she’s going at least 45.

Well, yesterday she posted
That they are thinking of getting

A dog. :barnie:th:mad:

This is what it said:
“Yes we are looking for a dog. I want a small adult dog with poodle in the mix. Let me know if anyone knows of a dog that needs a good home.”

How can I dissuade her?

I would go on and on about how they pee in the house, poop everywhere, eat the landscaping, are prone to nipping, dig holes everywhere, chew up the furniture, dig in the trash, chew up dirty laundry, bark a lot, have huge vet bills, and need walked all the time.

Oh and vacations are a pain cause you have to get a sitter and then some stranger has keys to your house!

Good morning! Another endless egg song kind of day, in fact Lulu was singing before I popped the door. :)
So, Chicky, do you plan on your hidey-hole to be chicken friendly? Also, Man in the High Castle is good.
Of course! What good is a hidey-hole if I can't have my kids in there watching Maury too.:)

Afternoon report: Everyone still alive. Wiped noses and eyes and did a repeat of morning treatment. Opal is the least snotty but her head around her eyes seems swollen. (That could just be me worrying) Peal is also a little less snotty but sounds more phlegmy. Clayton is a hair better. And what do we do when the kids don’t feel well? Make them scrambled eggs of course. Or in their case scrambled egg. One duck egg fed all three of them. LOL Opal and Clayton ate good. Pearl was not having it but I left them alone. Both girls are more skittish so hopefully she’ll see the other two eat and decide I’m not trying to poison them.

Jr seems to be on the up swing as well. No crowing but he’s walking around. He stood still most of the day yesterday. Pat coughs now and again but no one in the big coop has crusty faces like the three little ones.

I am going to mix up some acidified copper sulfate. (As soon as I find the dosage.) No other reason then I feel like it’s the right treatment.
Glad they seem to be doing a bit better. I hope they keep improving.

Took the crock pot outside to give the kids some bottom bits and got distracted topping up water.
I came back to Dutch in my pot...impatient hussy!:caf
Dutch.. in a pot... maybe that's how you make a... Dutch Oven. :gig
I apologize. I'll show myself out.

Iv'e been secretly fretting that I might not have enough roost space. Tonight the obvious stood out, iv'e got six feet of roost with one hen on it.
It is Hobo,so that MOFO is still full. Unless she suddenly learns to share I need to start thinking about a baby wall.:caf
Maybe do a lower roost for them that you can raise up as they grow.

I had my tonsils out at 21. Not fun at all. I may have told this story but I’ll reminisce anyway.

I woke up and couldn’t swallow. No pain. No fever. But a Cheerio wouldn’t go down. So I look in my throat with a flash light and was scared. Went to the Dr. and when the nurse asked what I was in for I said the alien in my throat. She laughed but when she looked she actually backed up.

Gave me a round of steroids and they went down. Steroids cleared my system and I couldn’t swallow again. They said let’s take em out.

When I went for surgery consult I asked if my adenoids were big too. Dr. chuckled and said my tonsils were so big he couldn’t even see my adenoids.

In for surgery I go. Still no pain or fever. Took over 4 hrs to get them out. They were over 4x the size they should have been. So big they touched in the middle then went down my throat. They sent them off on show and tell. Nothing was wrong with them. They decided to have a growth spurt.

That’s how I found out I shouldn’t have liguid Tylenol 4. The stuff with codeine in. Hit my stomach and came right back. Not good on freshly cauterized throat tissue.

I miss my adenoids though. I’ve had more trouble with my sinuses sines those have gone. I can do a neat party trick of coughing food out my nose though. The lettuce with salad dressing on was not one I’d like to repeat.
Your story sounds about like mine.. I was 19. I had tonsil stones. I didn't know what they were and I was picking them off for a good while. Finally I went to the dr and they said they had to come out. It was hell. That's when I found out I was allergic to vicodin.. threw up. I agree, it's the worst though I don't have any issues w/ stuff going up my nose. My nose was broken when I was a kid and one side is narrow so that might be why. No pain meds for me b/c the stuff they gave me I couldn't have and they weren't giving anything else.
My daughter had the tonsils so big they were touching and she kept choking on food. She was 4 when she had them out. Neither of us ever gets strep, but the little one gets it a couple times a year. It's usually the one they don't give you meds for though. Having them removed def seems to make a difference, though I've heard of people who say that they're important and shouldn't be removed.
