Ziva passed away this morning. I went over to check on her and she was lying in the cage on her side. I tried to get her into the vet to have her euthanized to reduce her suffering, but before they could even come into the room she had passed away. I considered just holding her and waiting a bit in case she was just going to pass, but the vet is 1/2 hr away & I didn't want to wait and end up having to take her anyway & her having to suffer longer. They said it might have been something respiratory or a parasite that weakened her and she wasn't able to fight off an illness. I'm going to worm the others tonight w/ the horse stuff. I still think it may have been internal laying, but I'm going to keep an eye on the others. She mentioned a dewormer call Prevent or something like that. Has anyone heard of it? Of course I can't find anything when I google.
So sorry for your loss!

Suzi, welcome back! I got a pup too!

Actually, I had a chameleon that would hold up his arms when I looked in his cage. He always wanted to be picked up. He was a panther chameleon. At one point I had 4 pairs of different species of them. Veiled are the easiest ones to keep. Oh, and my Jacksons had babies!
Really? That is so sweet! It is great to hear from actual people I know. Clearly my online research has a bias towards owners with cranky chameleons :gig

With what you describe and her breed I really suspect internal laying.
I am so sorry. :hugs
That's what seems most likely. It's possible that's what happened w/ Klaus too. She was a production bird also & while she seemed fine she'd act a bit off once in a while, but not enough that it made me thing she'd be passing soon. I'll take a good look at Nibbler (my other production bird) tonight... actually I'll grope everyone's belly & chest to if anyone else is losing weight. Now that I'm not letting them out I'm not picking them up as much as I had been so I haven't noticed. The white ones I handled more just b/c it's easier to check them for bugs.

My nephew had a couple of chameleons (1 at a time). Not sure what kind though. They seemed friendly enough that they could handle them.

Yes, this is the one we picked up in October. Training is going well, she does really good out in public, with the exception of the occasional bark. At home she's a goofy shark face. She chases her tail for 10 mins or more for the after poop zoomies. Unfortunately she can also be frustrating, like having to go get my shoes back from her 3 times this morning. We think she absconded with DH's slipper, but have no idea where she took it.

How's your puppy doing, Suzi?
