I sure hate to hear this. I don't know what else you can do at this point except keep him comfortable. It sure sounded encouraging last night. It may be that he did aspirate some water down into his lungs or it possibly could have happened in the egg?

Thank you miss Lydia. I sat with him and held him. He seemed to be doing good yesterday. I’m very sad to say that that little Wobbles didn’t make it. I’m absolutely broken hearted. I stayed with him till he passed and was late for work. Poor little sweetie I feel like I failed him. I’m thinking you’re right. He must have aspirated some water down into his lungs when he drank or when he was hatching.

Ok thanks for the great advice. I’m thinking I’ll try that if I don’t notice the air cells to be getting bigger. I’ll see how they’re looking tonight or in the morning. Then go through with wiping the bloom.

Sure makes it hard to wait seeing those tiny little ones. I hope I can get a few Runner ducklings this summer to add to my crew. Nothing more precious that duckling cuddles. Well chick cuddles are nice too. And puppy and bunny I guess i could go on all day.

Here’s baby number 2 all fluffy! He’s still floppy but not as much. He will remain in the towel donut for a while. He is starting to stretch his legs out. His webs straighten so he looks like he’ll be fine. I’m thinking he’s a blue fawn. Sadly no black bibs yet but I’m hoping Squeegee’s eggs or Cami’s will have one.
