View attachment 1295611 Our SS is very aggressive, to be held and be petted if you don’t give her attention she’ll peck your hand or your pant legs. She’s not noisy though but very friendly and lays pink cream medium eggs. Ours is almost 2 years old next month. I have decided to give her a cospeckled companion last spring she’s now 10 month old and on a shy friendly side.
She's gorgeous! And that's hilarious that she pecks you for attention! So cute!

I love the Speckled Sussex. I have 3 of the hens right now. Unfortunately I lost the rooster a few weeks ago. He was friendly and easy to handle but he became aggressive to my older roosters and was making life miserable for the flock. So he had to go. He is the 1st SS rooster that I've had and if he had been my only rooster I think he would have made a very good one.

The hens that I have had don't usually lay many (if any) eggs in the winter. Their eggs are mostly medium size cream colored eggs. But they make good brood hens and are very friendly. Very easy to make pets of them. And they are a beautiful addition to any flock. Snow, rain and cold weather doesn't faze them and they want to be outside no matter what the weather is.

They are gorgeous! And that is one beautiful rooster! So sorry you had to get rid of him. I only plan on having one rooster so I might just use a SS for my one roo since they are so pretty and so far I've only heard people say how friendly they are
