What is the difference in hens and roosters appearance wise?

I have two seven week old Speckled girls right now (along with two EE pullets). I have to say that they are some of the most vocal chicks I've ever known! I love it. They trill and chatter constantly. One of them is particularly friendly and likes to hang out on an arm or in a hand. I have high hopes for them and love that you started this thread!

Also seeing photos of them is great - they sure are gorgeous birds. Love that they become more speckled with each molt. Very similar to my mottled cochin bantams. They get more and more speckled/more interesting looking with each molt as well!

I’m also extremely interested in this breed. The first time I saw them I knew I wanted some. I’ve read a lot of reviews of them and I honestly haven’t seen anything negative.
The adjectives I see describing them are: friendly, vocal/talkative, sweet, followers.
The neighbor around the corner from me has a flock of about 15 birds and they are all SS and Gold Sex Links.
Her rooster is SS.
He’s beautiful and I’ve never witnessed any aggressive behavior.
I ordered 11 chicks from Meyer for May and 2 of them are SS. I can’t wait to get them!

That's awesome to hear, same with me, as soon as I saw a picture of one I was in love I'm so happy that everyone is saying such good things about them seems like they have it all beauty and personality!

Oh my gosh! My girl is da bomb she is the most friendly and will sprint to you as soon as she sees you! She's always wanting to "help" which is both good and bad, lol! Not to mention, beautiful feathers! Mine is a very reliable layer, probably around 260 (if she's feelin' like it more like 280). I have never had a rooster of this breed but my experience with the hens has been one of the best breeds! Highley recommend Here's some pics!: Her name is Hazel by the way

Our SS is very aggressive, to be held and be petted if you don’t give her attention she’ll peck your hand or your pant legs. She’s not noisy though but very friendly and lays pink cream medium eggs. Ours is almost 2 years old next month. I have decided to give her a cospeckled companion last spring she’s now 10 month old and on a shy friendly side.
