I also read that if they have an injured ovary this can happen whereby they can turn into a drake. I have 4 older hens and don't need any big drakes so hopefully mine will all stay hens, lol. It was great to see you on here again Frank!!!

Awww :(

Same here, although I don't think my issues are as life-threatening as yours. Been getting stuff ready for winter (which should have been done a month ago!) and am slowly but surely getting there.

Finally getting around to making an 'extension' to the trailer, which will house the rabbits, the geese, and some of the chickens:

Wow, you look like you live in quite an isolated area unless that is just what the picture looks like. I love you Geese!!!!

i’m working on my health here too . started a diet last week and lost 6 pounds so far. the first week was jump start with a shake mix called Almased. Tastes not great but it’s supposed to detox your liver. A little bird told me I should do that so I did for four days and also drank lots of vegetable broth that I made myself. I went to the local farmers market and just got all the baskets of discount veggies, lots of beets, onions, carrots, summer squash, Peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips and cabbage, & garlic. now i feel better and trying to stay on a high fiber low cal plan . hope to lose 5 pounds a month now until i reach goal. Almased is made in Germany maybe someone has heard of it? it’s main ingredients are soy, yogurt, and honey.

I had read where if you lose 10 pounds it takes 40 pounds of pressure off of your back. I have had back issues off and on so I decided the one thing in my diet was sweets that I ate constantly and that I would give them up. On July 5th of this year I decided no more cake, candy, donuts or goodies of such. If it already had sugar in it such as canned veggies or cereal like corn flakes I would still eat that. I have lost 20 pounds. I am 5'5 and weighed around 153 and now weight 133. I feel so much better and really don't miss those sweets like I used to. I can reach those duck eggs that they like to hide so well so much better with a smaller belly and my back really does feel better. Good luck on your diet.

That sounds almost like the holy story, they will keep you warm and you will keep them warm. The ducks want in too…

Well, that's the only advantage of being unemployed after 25 years: Everything tastes like Benjamin and i have already lost over 10lbs since October 1st.
