Do you usually do well at the shows Pyxis?

Well, the first year I was entering young birds, so they weren't very competitive against the older, more filled-out birds. But, the pullet I entered did get best pullet, so that was promising.

I showed her again last May (for scheduling reasons that ended up being the only show I could enter for that year) and the judge DQ'd her. For split wing. Which she was supposed to have. Because somehow he though she was a totally different breed. And she was the only of her breed entered in the show.

Anyway, I talked to him after to ask why he DQ'd her (you can't interrupt judging) and he apologized, but at that point, it's too late, the winners are already declared, she never got the chance to compete against the other birds.

Well, my fever didn't hit 104.8 today, so that was nice, lol. Still pretty run down though.

Shows are amazing! There's only one APA+ABA sanctioned show in my state, so I do that one every year, and then I travel and hit the ones in nearby states when I can.

Was it the Poultry Congress? I heard that one was really good this year but I didn’t go.

I've been to that one before, but didn't make it this year. Darn blizzard blew in just in time for traveling for it, of course.

Aww that stinks!! I found out about it kind of last minute and it’s kind of far so I didn’t go but maybe next year haha
