So what do you make out of that:

Whenever i look ath the egg, it is falling more and more apart. The shell is very brittle and whenever the little one moves, more is chipped away.
I have applied vaseline to the membrane to keep it from drying out and there are still blood filled blood-vessels in the membrane, so it is not ready yet. I just hope enough of the shell sticks together for a couple of hours…
Humidity in the incubator is currently at 90% - in the house it is at 75%.

I'm not peeling! - The duckling is moving a lot inside and every time it pushes another chip of the shell falls off. I assume that shell is on its last leg. That egg could easily be six weeks old… Being incubated on and off and off and on.

Ahh. Good luck. That's what happened with me and Carole Ann. That much shell gone she should come out by herself but she may be really weak.

I had one pop out on a clean paper towel in my home made incubator a couple of years ago with a full egg sac attached to it. It laid still until it absorbed it all and then got up and ran around like this was how things were suppose to go. Good luck with yours, I pray that it makes it alright and if it should pop out I would make sure it is on a clean surface and let it do its thing.

After I got Carole Ann out. I peeled her regardless, my advice is for others not myself. She laid there inert for 48hours. I got up every two to check if she was still breathing. I used the candle light to check. On the second night I was checking her and my DH got up and yelled don't go into the light Carole Ann! She's a happy healthy runner and no poltergeists.

That doesn’t look shrink wrapped to me. If it were that membrane would be glued to the down.
Yours appears to be able to wiggle around in there just fine. Just keep that exposed membrane moist and it could still hatch on it's own.

The membrane was much tighter before i applied Vaseline - or the duckling has shrunk.
More and more chips have fallen off and the little one is now only being held by the membrane, but still absorbing the yolk. Almost no blood is visible in the membrane, i think that's a good sign?
