Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, I have over a metre of snow on the ground from just the past week, and windchill is close to -30.
I cannot imagine having a meter of white fungus around me. Most likely i would go insane and my head would explode. 🤯
We are back to ~15cm of snow, almost a foot and i hate it. The ducks too.
Yesterday there was the usual pond stampede in the evening, i checked on the pond yesterday in the afternoon and it was ½ frozen. I assume overnight it has frozen over completely, because in the morning everyduck was sitting disgruntled at the humon house. I have lined up all their water-bowls at the house and filled them with straw, so everyduck that wants to sleep in the open has a little protection.
This evening the pond-ducks were the first in the dux-house - at 4pm… 😆
By 6pm everyduck was inside, waiting for their servant to bring water and food.

Its snowing - again, so i assume nobody will come out tomorrow morning. I hope i don't forget the phone...

Really sorry to hear about that :(

At some age one also gets very tired of jumping through hoops esp if the situation really feels like "if you don't want me, make it short and just say so".
I wrote »It will be to your disadvantage if you don't recognize my application.« in the last e-mail to that hiring-agent - and did not push the »send« button.
That job had my name written all over it.
But you're right: My knees hurt too much to jump.

I pray that they stay safe. Could you possibly have any large snapping turtles in your pond? That would scare them for sure as they can drown a duck and take feet and legs off.
I once had a snapper in the pond but it drowned.
And with that cold weather here all reptiles are hibernating. So that wasn't a snapper scare.

Apologies for my absence, i am disappointed to put it mildly:
Early last week it looked like i landed some contract work, but it ball fell apart. Lot's of hours for nothing…
Later that week i learned that in order to apply for a position with with the local government, you need to supply them with a transcription of your foreign education grade. I have been working in the IT industry for over 40 years, 25 years with a fortune 500 company, 17 years in the United States…
And they have ignored all that and tossed out more than 30 of my applications because i did not submit a translated and evaluated copy of my high-school certificate that i obtained over 40 years ago?!
So much wasted time…
I used to work with a lady at the bank I worked for. They decided after she worked there a year and a half with no proof of her diploma that she had to go so they fired her. She had told them her school had burned to the ground but they did not believe her. I was not sure if her story was true or not.

As said, rough week…
At least the weather is a bit cooperating, very little snow and it all melted away quickly. However this week's temperatures here...

I do hope that's it for this winter's hard freeze's! Have already sown in the first Tomatoes, Peppers, Squashes and Melons.
Hubby had had two red tomatoes that were delicious that he has grown in his shop. The size of a baseball so not huge but good at least. His plants are doing well. He has had lots of peppers so far and has enjoyed them too.

So sorry to hear that this is so difficult. I pray that you are able to find some work soon Frank.

I have heart similar stories. Why did they even hired her in the first step?
