A simple concept well-explained. The only thing I can't see clearly is how you fastened the layers of wire to each other.

If there had been plans, or even detailed dimensions, and some explanation of the design and decision process this would have been a 5-star coop.

What a remarkable, multi-use structure. Normally I wouldn't go over 4 stars for a coop page that didn't include plans, but this is just too amazing a setup to rate any lower.

Nice use of reclaimed materials in a highly-practical design. I particularly like the heavy pop doors, the broody hutches, and the storage silo.

Can you add the plans? More construction photos to help people? How big are the broody hutches?

Thank you for responding to my coop.
Unfortunately the plans for the coop and hutches was just a rough hand drawing on paper with scribbled notes of length and width.
And had I had any idea that I would someday write an article about it I would have definately taken more pictures.
Funny that I used the same scribbled note for the second hutch and it ended up being 4 inches shorter than the other..? I still dont know how I did that.
The silo had a walk thru sized hole in one side so my husband built a round door!
He was talented like that. No idea how he did it.
Thanks again for your like and comment. ?

Very nice conversion and use of found materials. I like the update on the improvements. It lacks only a plan with dimensions. :)

Good coverage of the basics, but one quibble ...

There's nothing wrong with an outside-mounted nestbox as long as you make sure that it's completely waterproof (top-hinged lids are notorious for leaking), and that you use predator-proof latches. Outside-access boxes facilitate frequent egg-collection because you don't have to put on your coop boots and can just stop outside the coop on your way across the yard. :)

Great ventilation -- often overlooked in small coops. It only lacks plans to be a 5-star article.

Wonderful shed conversion. The monitor conquers the hardest part of converting a resin shed -- ventilation.

Very nice design with a lot of good build photos and honest evaluation of what you did right and what you did wrong.

I hope you do manage to add plans.

Great design! Not many people include a materials list.

The only things that would improve it are actual plans and more photos of the interior.

Fabulous photos. I love the built-in storage cabinet.

Have you had to make any changes over time? Can you update it with plans?
