If you can find those plans, or maybe just sketch up a few that show how you set the roof angles and walls, that would be a big help to others who want to recreate your very cute barn design. I could easily see the feeder becoming a "silo" and a chicken swing added to a "hayloft pulley." The possibilities for this very nice little coop are endless!

This is just what the doctor ordered for a suburban back yard - functional, nice to look at and able to be broken down and moved to a new house, if needed. It definitely could uses some windows, if only for off-season lighting, though. If you've got plans, or even just some diagrams, go ahead and add them. They may well boost this article up into the five-star range!

Excellent article! Clear, simple and well illustrated. If I'd found this article first, my build would have been much faster, much cleaner and a whole lot more economical. VERY well done, all the way around!

This is well written, with lots of good tips on how the builders made things work. There's a nice write-up on converting a packing crate into nest boxes ... but I wanna see! Some interior pictures would help immensely - as would a note or two on how the ventilation concerns worked out or were resolved. With some editing and a follow up, this is potentially a five star article!

This is a really super find! There isn't much text about the coop, but there's a nice writer bio included.

This is a great start. Although the pics are clear and show the basic structure, a few sketches with some measurements would be very helpful, as would some details on how to attach the tubing frame to the wood. Very nice tractor coop!

This is a great rabbit run on its own, but would easily adapt to use as a chicken coop. It's solid, simple and the instructions/pictures clearly show the progression of the build. Very nicely done!
PS - I especially like the homemade bunny-nest boxes. What a great idea!

This coop is beautiful and the building process is clearly described through both text and photos. The history is a great bonus, as is the wonderful "picture window."

This presents beautifully at first glance, but after the initial comment about there being so many predators in the woods, there isn't much on how to keep them out. Now that you've had the coop and run for a few years, some updates on how well the filter-cloth wall inserts and gap stuffing held up would be helpful. I love the style of this coop! I just wish there were more details on how it's put together.

This is a great idea. Buying "blind" from a hatchery can be scary, as we don't get to see the parent stock. This is a great idea for letting others know what to expect from a particular hatchery's stock. Thank you!

The pics are good, but not enough angles, so some descriptive text is definitely needed. The coop itself is definitely a temporary set-up, but with a few modifications, mainly safety and predator-proofing, could work well as longer-term housing. Adding some text and pictures on how that could/would be done would definitely bump this article up a couple of stars!

A "first build?" It doesn't look like a beginner did it! This converted playset coop turned out rather nicely. The pictures show a lot of what was done. Some text descriptions on what worked and what didn't would be helpful for anyone else with an unused swingset in their back yard. Some interior pics would be nice, too, if you get the chance.

REALLY nice! The article tells, in fine fashion, how this chicken lady adapted and personalized a custom-built coop. There are lots of notes on safety and predator proofing, and some good tips on functional decorating and landscaping. This one's a "keeper!"

Nice idea, and easy to move around. I'd like to see some inside/structural pictures to help with a new build. And how in the world would you put 40 in there? Some layout pics or diagrams with measurements would help, a lot!

This is a really nice-looking set-up, not too big, solid, aesthetically pleasing. It would be perfect for a suburban setting where you want chickens but need to appease the neighbors (or Mom!) I'd love to see some how-tos or written descriptions, but there's nothing here beyond that lovely picture. This probably belongs in a "Coop Pictures" gallery, not in the"Articles" section.

This is a nice set-up, especially for a first-time coop-builder! Both the run and coop are spacious. The storage area is a nice bonus. I'd like to see (or read) some details on how the coop-to-run tunnel was constructed and attached, and what type of predator proofing was handled. All-in-all, very nicely done!
The edits covered it all! Really nice article ... and super coop and run set-up!

This is a wonderful coop and run. The lines are clean and simple, but appear much more complicated due to placement. I'd love to see a footprint and a few elevation sketches. Those and some end-of-project dimensions would bump this article up to five stars!
Love the round ventilation holes. How are they predator proofed?

As I have time over the next week I will sketch up a completed footprint and elevation sketch along with dimensions. I think I have about 60 pages of a sketch book filled up with my ideas and piece by piece sketches as I went through this project.
I am not sure if you are asking if the round ventilation holes are predator proof or the entire package. So I will cover both. The round ventilation are metal and they have been epoxied into their holes. As far as the entire build the 3 commercial windows has both standard window screen and a additional screen of hardware cloth that has been attached to a separate frame and mounted. The large end made window at the one end has hardware cloth sandwiched between the coop frame and the plywood with an additional standard screen framed and screwed in. All vents are either screwed or epoxied into place. Every access door on the coop has 2 barrel bolts and a security swivel hasp with a carabiner securing it. The door to the run has 4 points of security starting with 2 barrel bolts, a swivel security hasp with carabiner, and gate flip latch. The run is 100% enclosed with 1/2" hardware cloth (even under the eaves of the roof) that has been attached with hundreds of 7/8" crown staples. I have added a 2 layer predator barrier around the entire outside of the run, the first layer is 2' of 1/2" hardware cloth which actually runs under the run walls and folds up and staples to the inside, the second layer is 3' wide 1"x2" PVC coated welded wire fence which is stapled to the outside of the run walls. The hardware cloth overlaps 2' at the corners and the pvc wire overlaps 3' at the corners. I then secured it to the ground with close to 300 heavy duty landscape staples. I am adding a picture of the predator barrier to my story. Thanks

This is an inspiration for anyone working on a really tight budget ... or someone who just like the challenge! The idea is sound, but the electrical system needs some serious rethinking, if not total elimination. It just doesn't look safe, especially around water!
