Chickens under 2 months dropping like flys,no noticeable symptoms

I don't get how this happened. First the cat has giardia and now this cocci fiasco. I normally bleach all the containers for food and water once a week. I wipe them out daily with paper towel and rinse. We scoop poop about every 2 weeks in warm weather and add a little clean hay every few days, shovel uunder the perches etc. I mean they're chickens they poop on everything constantly so there is poops but not like unreasonable levels of poops ever. And this is the first time we've ever had a problem but this is a diet coop type disease. I don't get it at all. Once my daughter came home from a sleepover with love. That's what this reminds me of. Did you watch the videos I posted yesterday (or this morning-forget when) about coccidiosis?
It explains things pretty well.
I would guess the problem was mixing birds from three different places, the other two may have brought different strains of coccidia with them...add to that all the wetness and it probably just got out of hand.
Hot/warm + wet is the perfect breeding grounds for coccidia.

I'm sorry for all you are going through. Were the goldfeather chicks vaccinated for coccidia? You mentioned the Mcmurray chicks were vaccinated. I'm wondering if they were each vaccinated with a different strain of coccidia, if that would have exacerbated the reaction. Also, not to berate you, but please people, stop saying cocci when you mean coccidia. Cocci is a bacteria, and it can also cause problems, but would be treated with antibiotics. Coccidia is a parasite. Two completely different things. It can cause confusion.

You could have what's called 'New House Coccidiosis Syndrome'.
The first outbreak in a new coop is usually the worst. The first birds raised on new ground have little exposure to sporulated oocysts. When they eventually become exposed, they have no resistance and the outbreak becomes particularly serious.
The oocysts can't survive below freezing or above 130F. They don't survive long in dry soil or dry bedding. Oocysts are sensitive to ammonia, molds and bacteria so they survive better in fresh bedding in humid or damp conditions than in older soiled litter.
Chances of an outbreak are greatest in warm humid weather.
