My favorite coops for colder (down to somewhere below sustained 20 below F) climates, except I'd add wider eaves to those that don't have them:

And mine :), except I would like it bigger, and less cheaply built. I would need a different property to have it bigger. I don't have a coop page yet...I have a few necessary things to build before I make one.

My favorite small run: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/new-coop-project.1169916/

My favorite tractor coop: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...-the-flying-fortress-tractor-3-miles.1217645/

My favorite method for dealing with poop (theoretically since I haven't used it yet; I use deep bedding and poop board so far): https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/results-from-first-year-with-deep-litter-method.643302/
Well! Clearly you didn't read MY coop article! 🤨

I imagine. Im not great at building things (yet) but I'm probably gonna steal some aspects of it.
Feel free! That's what these articles are here for. To help teach you how to do it and give you ideas on what might work in your situation.

a craftsman from carolina coops is my dream set up.

once we terrace the yard to take care of a big slope on our property, i’ll be in contact with them to have one built on the lower level.

Well! Clearly you didn't read MY coop article! 🤨
I like everything about yours except my dream coop has more windows.

.......Checking coop page....

Actually, yours does have windows to look out!! I think the beautiful butterflies cloud my sight :)

Yours is my favorite build coop page from the combination of why you did what you did, excellent design, details on how to do the parts (like extend rafters and attach hardware cloth), and easy/enjoyable to read.

The US is a big country. It would help to make recommendations if we knew whether you were talking about the Steamy Southeast, the Frozen North, or the Desert Southwest. :D Climate MATTERS.

I haven't written the coop page for Neuchickestein yet, but here's the build thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/large-open-air-coop-in-central-nc.1443812/

I'm also very proud of the Little Monitor Coop, which first fulfilled my dream to own chickens and which was carefully designed to meet all the minimums for a flock of four -- with the help of the experts here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-little-monitor-coop.76275/

On my short list of coop projects to do soon are these:
Something the first two pictures. (Both in the articles section)
Something like the third picture (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/diy-insulated-water-pail.1071957/)

I also want to improve the roost. Coco likes to be on the very end which puts her over the frame of the poop board instead of over the PDZ. And I may try a larger diameter roost pole.

A project for next spring is whitewashing the interior.
