Tonight's Roosting

It is never easy with pullets. I swear it is more complicated than it should be.

So Glynda knows what to do. At bed time she went into the coop and roosted on the high roost. She then called out to the others to join her.

Gucci just seems to have no interest in going back into the coop. She laid down next to the wire under the coop.

Lady Featherington did not want to leave Gucci but wanted to roost. She was getting frantic when I intervened.

Glynda had already come back downstairs to see what was going on.

I could not have Gucci sleeping outside the coop. I decided to start with her. I put Gucci into the coop. Glynda immediately followed her there. That left Lady Featherington.

She was pacing around where Gucci had been trying to figure things out. I did not help her. Slowly she worked her way around to where I was sitting. Next thing you know she has flown into the coop through the open side door and is roosted on the high roost.

I put Gucci on the low roost. Lady Featherington flew down and joined her there and Glynda soon followed. Of course Glynda was on the wrong side and had to walk over Gucci and Lady Featherington so she could sleep next to Lady Featherington.

Here they are all roosted. Gucci is pretty hidden behind Lady Featherington but you can see a little of her tail.

She will, but it may be a while before she has the agility of Sylvie and Legertha.
As long as she can be a chicken and do "chickeny" things my prayers will be answered. I do need her to be able to go to bed at night though. I won't always be around to move her upstairs. I hope she figures that out soon.

If it is OK to ask, what were they doing when Rosie fell. My daughter used to do jumping. That was so nerve wracking. Every single jump had you on edge.
Rosie's final class of the night was doubles. Mallory was already up behind her and they were literally just calmly walking him around waiting to be called into the ring. Russ tripped over a larger rock they did not see and he hit his knees and she flew over his head and tried to brace herself when she landed.

This dog gone crazy heat! 107f a half hour ago. Now it’s only 104f :(
Seems the same as gas prices. Up way high, then it feels better when they are dropped a few cents. It’s still friggin hot 🥵. And the price$ are still way too high! :old
Agreed on both counts! Coste $168 for 98 liters on Saturday!!

But temps are good here - move to Ontario, the winters are good for skiing and summers for lounging at the beach 🤗
