Fluffy Butt Friday

Finally able to put my feet up and check all my BYC friends online. Today at work I consoled a young lady who is a robotics programmer having issues with the ‘good ol boys club’, I caught her bawling her eyes out in the bathroom. I know well the project manager with whom she is having issue, only differences is I can tell him to you know what, after all I am pushing 60 and I worked in a man’s world a very long time, poor young lady less than a year! What are they gonna do ? Fire me? Likely not!

So we went and sat in the Big Blue Truck I gave her some advice on ‘look at your job as a stepping stone’ not where you will end up. We laughed over the fact I was missing a meeting with my HR mngr and a vendor (sweet!).

And then we went back inside because sitting in the Big Blue Truck when it’s 80F outside is very hot!!! All this got me thinking about how privileged I was growing up, I had a father who encouraged my sister and I to do everything and not to be limited by supposed gender based jobs! Imagine back in the 70s and early 80s one’s father telling his daughter learn all about computers they are they way of the future! Smart man my dad

He's not to happy with me. I've just wiped his gums and teeth with bicarb and coconut oil. But he was very happy too have the coconut oil treat after ,no complaints there

Our lone buff Orpington hen was near death about ten days ago. We mixed a vitamin B mix with wet mash and syringe feed her then follow that with electrolytes. She has started eating on her own again but not like normal and is well on her way to a recovery. The progress may come slowly but remain vigilant and patient and the meds will do their work.

Would you mind telling us what your vitamin b mix is. Bob needed that awhile back and I would like to know

Thanks Marie, I have found given a chance most people are decent. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt at least twice!

Last month I was at the lumber mill getting wood shavings when one of the workers approached me asking about my license plate - I have a personalized one referencing Newfoundland.

So we chatted about 'downhome' and I asked him 'where are you from?'

'Conception Bay'

I laughed and said well that narrows it down

So he replied that

Oh no I have stopped here I have to tell you the first part of the story!

Boy I am gonna owe a lot of tax!

Ok so one day about 6 weeks ago I was just n the lumber mill getting wood shavings when one of the works there asks me out of the blue.

'Can I take your picture? I was telling my wife I have seen our daughters Mother.'

I looked at him and started laughing and told him it was a good line

He blushed and then explained I was the spitting image and personality of his daughter. He told his wife, and wanted to show her.

Anyways I turned to the other guy and asked him - is this guy a creep?

' No more than usual' was the reply

So we both turned to give buddy (I will call him buddy) the once over. I considered it and said what the heck. Removed my cap and sun glasses.

Oh yes Conception Bay. Large area....

Well, buddy told me ' oh it's very small you won't know it, it's called bay de verde'

'Hmmmm I said interesting'....

' whats your family name?'

He tells me.

Well by know I am both gobsmacked, laughing, astonished, and just plain intrigued.

'oh' I said 'well now do you know any so n so's from there?'

'yaes, by, me fadders fadder was a so n so'

I slowly blink, and ask his mother name...

Lorraine this-n-that....

Ok so by now I am beyond astonished and I tell him ' you have got to be pooping me!? No way!?'

' I knows yer Mudder!!! Yaes by, I do! My name is Kelly so n so and me Mudder is Lorraine this n that also!

Ok enough with the poor Newfoundland imitation talk.

Seems buddy's grandfather is from my father's family, and his mother grew up with my mother - her childhood friend. They both had the same name and caused some confusion growing up

So seems my cousin is here in town talk about a small world!

So yes Marie it's a very small world and who knows who you may be related to!!
