Progress Continues

No video and no pictures because it all just happened on its own. But it is great news!

Gucci did the ramp on her own tonight!

TWICE!

We were outside enjoying the cool temps when it started raining again. So I hustled Glynda and Lady Featherington into the Big Run and picked up Gucci and placed her onto the end of the ramp. Up she went, slowly and deliberately but up none the less. No encouragement or guidance from me.
Once on the porch she called everyone else to join her but neither would come. They fussed around for a while and Gucci around up falling off the porch.

So I scooped her up and put her on the end of the ramp again. This time she went right up like it was no big deal at all. She called to everyone else and went into the coop on her own.

Like it was no big deal.

Lady Featherington then joined her in the coop and Glynda followed. Just like it should be at night. Tomorrow night I will wait to see if she finds her own way to the ramp. I'm so very happy and proud of her.

More rooster shenanigans

Kren took it into his head to go after one of the hobbit girls (not sure which as I didn't look that closely). She took off clucking, with him in hot pursuit. Looped around me, I stuck it a foot as an obstacle for Kren, who hop/flew over it (he's got some agility skills). Cheetah hears a girl fussing from across the yard and starts over to play knight in "golden" armor. He arrives just as Kren has semi-caught her (she's still fussing up a storm).....within 3 feet of Hector. Kren bails upon Cheetah's arrival, and Cheetah goes in pursuit of HECTOR, who runs, thoroughly puzzled over why it's all HIS fault.

And yes, I did see what you did there.
Rain was promised here too - but we were lied to but there is a breeze and it is cooling down. I must get another one of those little fans - they really are brilliant. I have the one I have hanging behind a milk container filled with water that has been in the freezer all day. It is aiming right at the roost the Hooligans use - it is a bit too far from the main roost so I need a second one and a hook to hang it on.

What fan do you use, and does it come chargeable or usable with batteries? Or is it plug in only?

Well, Archie is growing up to be a big boy, and he’s pretty proud of himself.

Meanwhile, I rehomed the other two roosters, so I thought I had the situation under control. Then this developed:
Meet Elvis.

And here we have Lucy and Kitten Little.

And leghorns love to fly, so this business is happening regularly.

This is Lucy, but Ethel flies around also.
We sit out on our back deck in the evening and watch the dog-cat-and chicken show. It’s better than whatever is on TV.

What fan do you use, and does it come chargeable or usable with batteries? Or is it plug in only?

It charges with a USB port and lasts an amazingly long time when fully charged - for sure it will last most of the night.
It was @micstrachan who set me on it - I am not sure I have the exact same one as hers as I got one without the misting option.
This is the one I got - I am ordering a second one. I use it for myself when it is very hot out - I clip it to the wheelbarrow for example.

Did you get the wing stablized against her body?

No I didn’t. But what ever was popped out of place, is popped back into place. She’s running around like a normal chicken now

Well that is good. But it also means it wasn’t broken. Might need to educate that vet.
