Okay but isn’t the relevant question how many eggs from you in total did she hatch, and of that, how many cockerels, or likely cockerels, did she not keep?
That is a very good question which I can answer. This was her first ever attempts at incubating and hatching herself so there were some errors made during the learning process, which happened to me as well. The first attempt she had 7 successfully hatch but lost 4 in the first 2 days. She was left with 1 silkie and 2 marans mixes. The 2 mixes turned out to be boys which she rehomed. The 2nd group she had 13 hatch and lost 2 in the first few days. Of those 11 that survived she had 3 boys and rehomed 1 and kept her 2 favorite. There is no way to know the genders of the ones she lost, but 16 hatched out and survived, 5 boys 11 girls. From my own eggs, why can I not get those ratio's.

I've thought of freezing some eggs during the spring 'flush' to help carry me over through the winter slow down in laying. Has anyone here done this before? I use a lot of eggs for fried and/or scrambled and/or omlets. Obviously, it wouldn't work for frying, but was wondering how they are for scrambled or omlets? I would love feedback if anyone has tried this!
I have frozen eggs before. I beat all the eggs up in a blender, poured them in a muffin tray. I filled 12 cells of the tray with 18 eggs. After eggs all frozen, I put all 12 "egg muffin" in a ziplock bag.

The taste: after eggs thawed out, it looked kinda weird, but it tasted good after scrambled. I didn't really sense a difference from freshly scrambled eggs.

About muffin tray: it was hard to dig frozen eggs out of each cell. If I do it again, I might use some silicon ice trays that makes big ice cubes.

I am doing water glass eggs now. 😃

I wish to rant: I will try to keep it short!
I have all these properties, all this time to do things. But I have never forged my own knife or sword 🗡. I have carved horseshoes to fit Chaco, and I wear my own home made leather belts. I have seen some very creative people, do miraculous things. (I want to do them also) it’s sad that there’s always someone else with a faster/nicer plane than mine!
Sometimes I feel like crawling under a rock (but knowing me, I’d find gold under it) :barnie rant over. …… (for now)
Clarification required

You know I am slow, right?

These Princesses crack me up.
Bed time. Diana has claimed the best spot and Maggie is snuggled up close. This is their strategy to keep the best spot for themselves.
Bernadette is using her full height to assess the situation

Bernadette makes her move!

It is the sideways shuffle that makes me laugh.
She jumped from the platform below the window, up between the wall and Diana? And relied on Diana momentarily ducking to avoid her to get a wedge started?

BTW are those nestboxes beneath the platform, and has anybody used them?

I hope you feel better soon. Dealing with back issues sucks!

I did pots of four beaten up with a pinch of either salt or sugar. I did four at a time because that is what I use for my standard baked goods.
