That's correct. Most all of us have named our chickens. If we don't eliminate that one everyone's count would be 0.

How can the chooks be family, if the don’t have a name?

She needs to teach them to tap on the glass.... just saying!

I am in the habit of checking in on the camera to make sure everyone gets in before the automatic door closes and one night I kept hearing this metallic tapping noise. I went outside to check and these three characters came running!

They had gotten locked out and were tapping on the door, so their servant would let them in!

We have:
Marans- Bubba, Holly, Lilly, Baby, Corona
Silkies- Branch and Chiquita
Cochins- Flurry and Gryffyn
Buff Orps-Butter, Siracha, Nellie and Wasabi
Queens-Berthie and Lassie
crosses- Squirrel, Raven, Blueberry, Twig, Goose, Karen
game hen-Momma Hen
Chicks- Kit, kat, Ducky plus momma's 4 new ones and 9 of the ones hatched in october.

ok earlier count was wrong, 38 total not 42. I even went out and did a head count just to make sure. No I do not have too many chickens.

FBCM - Brownie
Azure- Snicker and Doodle
Moss- Flour, Sugar, Powder
Wellsummer- Ginger
Wellsummer or Sage (still unsure)- Cinnamon
Amerucana - Peanut Butter
Silverudds Blue - Biscotti

Therefore only 8 chickens actually exist, I think Math isn’t my strong suit.

Applying the chicken math rules to that I think you only have 23 chickens. It could be less if you have more than 3 roosters or if you hatched any of the babies intending them to go to other people.

Applying the rules in that article you only have 4 chickens - assuming Cinnamon is a Sage.

My chickies are not allowed up near the house... and I wouldn't want them to roam up there anyways - too many places for predators to hide.

Remember the cochins, were gifted, they do not count. The chicks, were hatched with no plans on keeping although Ducky stays.

How does that reconcile with the "named chickens don't count" Proof?
