I swear I have to get GPS tracking collars for my chooks. I go out to look for them, and they are always nowhere to be found. It does affect my blood pressure with the constant worrying! Then with an hour before dark, they are all around the coop. (Except for Coco)!

Actually, I got to thinking chicken math wise. I do not have as many personally as we came up with. If I want to get technical dad swears that Squirrel, Blueberry and now Blueberrie's daughter Ducky are his, not mine. Mom claims that Butter and the 5 Rural king girls and Twig belong to her. I don't care if they are all seemingly part of the same flock, not mine is not mine and do not count to my total. I feel justified for ordering silkie hatching eggs this spring....I need more.

Get an even dozen hatching eggs!

Ordering 6 white and 6 black hatching eggs. Her white flock are laying great, the blacks have not started back up just yet. Will be placing the order around the end of March so chicks hatch towards the end of April. Perfect timing for me if I have to brood them myself. It may be wishful thinking, but, I would not mind having a broody around that time period that would adopt them.

Those cracks were from logging trucks kicking up debris, my windshield was a mass of cracks when I got off that project. So far this project my windshield is ok - not so many logging trucks here.

I do not think Momma will be quite finished with her current brood then. She likes to hang onto them longer then any of my other hens. I would actually feel safe fostering chicks onto a semi broody Raven or full on broody Baby. Both adopted chicks last spring and were wonderful mothers to them. I think if I had chicks now I could give them to Chiquita.

Crap, it is dark and thinking of Chiquita made me remember I did not open back up the coop. Lets go round up some angry chickens out of the horses stalls and put them where they belong.
