Just for perspective:

Large is the egg above, middle is a regular duck egg, small is a average size (large) chicken/marans egg.

Delilah laid her first egg!!!:wee:wee

Actually, while it is very exciting, I am not sure that I like her laying now. Supposedly, Sebastopol Geese only lay about 30 eggs/year. I'm concerned that she is starting to lay too early in the season - I didn't expect her first egg for another month!

Hmmm, my rocks are actually VERY GOOD at training!!! They have me trained quite well. :gig :gig

Seriously, thought....have you tried clicker training (dog clicker/training device?) My rocks are pretty smart. While I can't compare them to leghorns, they are no slouches in the intelligence department!
I think Sydney has an attitude problem. She just is not interested and I am not one to force it when I have others that are. I did really think that a Barred Rock would be interested in humans. Sydney just isn't.
