Glynda may be small but she holds her rank!

 However, she is generous ; https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26861154

Phyllis is back at laying! And Hattie is having a try at crowing, which is not fun considering the neighborhood.

Who stole the walnuts in the bag ? https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26865346

@featherhead007 :
Main show of the week is courtesy of neighbors little chicks still hanging by. The mama hen is feral ! They stopped coming for a while, which was worrying but when they are there, they know how to party !
Jaffar cocoricoed a lot this week : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26875911
Dakota has spent a lot of time in the house. She had a prolapse and is getting bullied by the other hens.

@Firsttimehens1234 posted a lovely presentation of their flock : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26860725
Disaster : a fox killed one of the two new hens. The lone hen is shocked. Fortunately a friend joined her from where she was bred.

@knoturavggrl :
Second integration sequence went great for Brownie and her chicks : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26862410

Bad news, found a rat in the coop and tunnels under. Bybob had great success using dry ice. This will unfortunately delay the chicks integration in the coop https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26870326
No dry ice to buy anywhere 🙁 but fight is going strong https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26876998

@LhickenChicken had a traumatic experience euthanizing Mrs Clean egg, who turned out to have EYP : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26864962

@lightm : reminder is leaving on the 5 June for a trip to China to see her family ! She will be doing a specific thread on her trip.
Tina is not doing well and has passed some poops with intestinal shedding. A slightly better update : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26877732

@Marie2020 : Tina had a not so good week laying both soft shells and wrong sized egg (tiny then huge). And princess has bumble foot. This hasn't stopped her from enjoying outside time and getting mucky! https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26878420

@Pastel The Rooster gave an update after some time off 😊 https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26873465

@Ponypoor has been overwhelmed most of the week with armies of chicks running around everywhere!
Pony Sunday https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26860583
Unfortunately on Tuesday Lulu and especially Truly were not well 🙁. The vet thinks maybe Truly could have an ulcer ? They seemed to improve some during the week. https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26868038

Is Penne a girl or a boy?
https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26860608
The chicks lineage raised several interesting discussions on genetics and breeds. Rural mouse shared her knowledge https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26871046
Integration has begun. The chicks meet each other : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26875644
The broody chicks are more difficult to integrate than the brooder raised ; the mommas get upset.
To move them around a bucket of chicks works nicely ! https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26872694

@RebeccaBoyd :
Rosie was anxious for her first show after her injury, but she got a first place ! https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26861890

An update on her various chicks : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26870060

Rural mouse : posted as usual beautiful pictures throughout the week.
Different comb types : https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26865325

@ValarieF hasn't been online as usual due to health issues🙁. But did mention that she could be getting three new chickens re-homed from a family moving. Chicken math strikes again.

Have a nice weekend everyone.
I missed replying to you @ManueB, sorry! I read this and found it helpful, thank you!

There are many others!
There are indeed. I do not use Microsoft, Apple, or Google products as a OS on my laptop. I use Fedora Linux 37. My phone is running Android 10, which is a Google product that uses the Linux kernel. Those are my two most used pieces of tech. There is LineageOS which is Android with a choice: To have Google or not. My phone cannot run it though :(.
I used to use a iPhone 5s. 2013 is too old nowadays though. And my needs changed.
If your computer is no longer getting support, install Linux. I can help you.

I should mention I have Lineage on a old Fire tablet and I love it. Without Google.

It’s a grainy photo, but you can see Harold the resident Red Shouldered Hawk on the wires. You are right, Bob; humans are only somewhat of a deterrent. Lexi, however, is a wonderful deterrent.

Agree. We lost our crazy hen, Cuckoo, yesterday to a RSH while my husband was about 20 feet away.

It is going down quite low at night. It's already 71°F in the coop right now. It would still be in the 90s without the fan.
18c outside , pretty warm for now at night. Should that during the day!

Tomorrow will be spent getting fans up and running for horses and chooks.
