Funny, I was struggling with the reasoning. Chicken people can't understand technical articles? Chicken people might share scientific secrets with the chickens who might then take over the world? Chicken people might get distracted by the chickens and not pay due attention to the article?
I am going with the chickens might take over the world rationale. I buy it.

I kinda wish they would.

I had 2 roosters hatch from my boy, last year that was identical to this, and my the grew up beautiful!

STRAW!

I tried using the straw I purchased in desperation to clean out the coop on Monday. It was awful. It was so long I could only use it for the nests. With a complete sense of defeat I went back online yesterday and saw the Chopped Straw which I wanted or sale at TSC. I called the store and they had 8 bales available. By the time I got there they had 2!

My success.

You can see the difference between the nest boxes and the rest of the coop.

I have happy hens today.

I must say they really are absurdly photogenic chicks. They seem to have learned 'posing for the camera' from Phyllis!
