We had a shocking couple of days rain-wise today and yesterday. I thought I’d share some pictures of my girls channeling their inner duck.

As you know, Hydrogen Peroxide damages good tissue as well as bacteria. Constant use of it can create more damage and prolong injuries as you are killing the newly formed tissue. You are right to recommend chlorhexidine over it. Peroxide really has a limited effective use.
A long time ago I used Hydrogen Peroxide on a rather nasty skin tear down the side of a hen. I took the hen to Gloria who asked what I had done so far about the injury. That's when I got told off for using Hydrogen Peroxide. She scraped all the edges of the skin to remove the tissue that the Hydrogen Peroxide had in effect sealed and made the skin edges bleed again. It's the blood, even in minute quantities that a) helps to clean the wound, and b) helps the two sections of skin form a bond under the scabbing process. I haven't used it since.

Amazing evening. I took Rocks-Anne back outside, then she ran to the barn/coop. Before I knew it, everyone in my flock was running into the coop for the night. (No stragglers this time)
Seems I get the rest of the evening to myself! YAY!
Last night was the first night on my own for a while. What wonderfully entertaining task do I do?
Two hours with the vacuum cleaner.:( While the chickens will put up with a lot of things the vacuum cleaner is not one of them.
