All the bantam hens are moulting, except it seems for Bracket. The more I watch Bracket the more she makes me laugh. She lives in a different world to the others.
Rivit is taking the moult the hardest. It's her first serious moult. Tack is going blond!
It looks like Lock is going to grow dark tail feathers like Bracket. It's her first serious moult but she doesn't seem at all put out by it.

So they do change color when they moult? I was wondering about that. Maggie has been molting more or less continuously all summer but definitely no change in her color and I think she even re-grew her rather striking black tail feather.

This picture of Daisy, the greatest hen ever, was taken in October as she was molting. She had a very gradual molt but in this picture you can see her beautiful new wing feathers but check out her ratty tail. Those feathers are all busted up.

Was Daisy a small hen? She looks quite small in that picture (but also seems to be really enjoying the leftovers!)

I think change colour could lead one to wrong expectations. Some here have changed hue and some have had more noticeable changes to tail feather, especially after their first proper moult.
Lock will still look basically the same apart from her tail feathers and being a bit lighter in hue.

Daisy was quite small. White leghorns are close to @Ribh campines in size I believe. They lay an oversized egg in proportion to their body. She flew to the container from the deck while I was getting ready to take it in the house. She was an amazing flyer.
