Now that everyone ( including a very angry bagpipe who didn't want to jump up the step) is in bed here's an update.
About 15 minutes before the door closed hubby came out and we started telling the birds it was bedtime, go to coop, etc. Spread mealworms out inside where they could see, and eventually they went in after doing laps around the coop. Pretty funny, and done with 5 minutes to spare!

They're going to love when I clip him and send free-range fluffies out into the yard. The squirrels will have competition to grab the fur puffs.
Poor Felix - hopefully it continues to be a quiet cooperation between them all.

Happy Caturday

We found an wild animal sanctuary near our house that we never knew about. We took Eve today and saw some BIG cats (sorry Éowyn).

The tiger was playing.

I guess surveying the land is tiring.

Then this bobcat was lounging on top it's house.

I love it's speckled belly. I just wanted to rub it!
They may be big but they are still cats.
I enjoyed reading this big cat article today - scratching pads in the jungle!

Today is honey harvest day. I’m taking a break. First though I got to move my hives down from some too high sawhorses to a stand my boyfriend welded for me. I need to go clean up out there later, but there were so many grumpy bees by the time I robbed and moved their hives I decided to wait. 😬

Bee tax: Einstein new laying location. At least these eggs I can reach without a ladder!

That’s hilarious! I am glad mine lay in the barn!

(I am sooo jealous of your orange trees!)

Mrs LC - she has dug out a hole in the ground. Silly chook!

How marvellous, are those animals rescued from owners who didn’t want them anymore?

I’ll admit that my gut reaction to these sweet babies is not 100% favorable but I think it’s only because my brain says something is amiss and I wanna help 🤣 but of course these 2 are in perfect health and uniquely beautiful.

What a fascinating breed.

I call them mutants. Not a huge fan of what we do to animals we raise.
