Helicopter Mom is a good thing to be for the next few days. If the chick is drinking and eating just keep an eye on her, and her butt. If they are a day old no feed for a day should be fine. You have a water dish with stones or marbles in it? She should poop a more normal poop by later today. A very cute, tiny tiny poop!
Buckeyes here have tendef to be yellow to yellow-gold fluff. Not really reddish. Yellow legs. Head markings vary, no indication of sex ime, contrary to what I've heard from some sources.I keep trying to attach pics and getting nowhere. Will try later.

Also, there's sometimes a gel in the box.
I was going to give them a dish with rocks, but the one I have used before looked so enormous I traded it out for the lid of a plastic food container. Doesn't hold much water but I am there to top it up for them and they seem to enjoy paddling in it!
No gel in the box - just the packet of what she told me were electrolytes. They didn't come in the mail so they weren't a day old - more like a few hours old when I got them.
Chippy is definitely eating and drinking. They all are! I will keep an eye on her for sure. So far only cookies has delivered a perfect little poop in my presence but I am on poop watch for sure!

I put rocks in the tiny dish only because they flipped it in scrambling around (not drinking) and wet the area, but then I removed it because they immediately found and used the vertical nipple waterer - ZERO training.

This is the Golden Cuckoo Marans I think. Just noticed very fluffy legs!

Here is chippy showing off her leg color: pink. Is that white?

Bit worried about chippy - pooping a sort of clear gel. Doesn’t act ill. Is that usual for a very young chick. Don’t think I have ever had chicks on day of hatch before.
And yes, I am already a helicopter Mom!
I have had several very young chicks and I would say the poop is in range of normal, I wouldn’t be concerned unless it was coupled with lethargy and since she seems bright and energetic otherwise I really do think your fine to just monitor.

I will pass on a quote that my pediatrician gave me with my first baby and I was bringing up a bunch of is this normal is that normal things. “Babies are weird, their bodies adjusting to the world.” It made me laugh then and it still does and it’s true about humans and chicks too! So just keep eye and see if it’s consistently weird or just a one off.

Type of comb? You have to be kidding me! I can barely get her to stay still long enough for me to check her butt - she is a real wriggler!
I think her skin is pink/white - but I have to go back and check (and will try and see comb at the same time). For now I have been released from chick watching duty as they are having a nap, and I have a lot to do to prepare for the whole Tassels introduction phase of this madness!
