You're all going to hate me. I'm going to do it again.....
This is the first book I got about chickens and other fowl. I attended a lecture at The British Poultry Club many years ago and this was a book many recommended.
Victoria Roberts is old school but incredibly knowledgeable about her subject.
Don't expect any fluffy buttness in this book. It's a down to earth, if a bit dated book that covers most of the chicken sickness problems with free range chickens.
Contained chickens can have other problems but this is a great guide in general.

I can't do another one so close to the last but I have bookmarked it for future reference.

Falcon came back. I am really tired of him/her.
We have Falcons here. They rarely bother a full sized chicken. Firstly the hunting style is wrong; falcons like to take prey in the air and secondly, they like to carry their prey and they cant manage a full grown chicken.
What the Peregrine Falcon will take here are chicks.

All are safe, thankfully, no damage, but I don't want to keep having to throw rocks at it. I wish I had a bow, I could keep it away more effectively. No, I don't want to kill it, just keep it away. it has messed up the coop door before, but can't get through the hardware cloth.
I don’t think that a nerf gun would be helpful against a falcon... they are so fast
