I did not realize that she was your flock's sentinel. Very cool.

It's hard to get into here too, yet we still have avian specialists. When I was a kid, I needed 95/100 for year 12 high school to getinto vet science. I ended up working instead of going to uni (I earned my degree in my late 20s). Not sure what vet sci threshold is nowadays, but it ought to be quite high still.

There are many more medical schools than veterinary schools in the USA. I think it is the result of an effort to raise the status & pay of animal doctors. I have to go to my phone for the tax!

I just looked it up and the median score for entry is 93.23 at my local uni. To enter the profession, it's a 3 year bachelor, followed by a 3 year coursework doctoral.
