Vet school is hard to get into, not because it's hard but because they restrict applicants on purpose, and I don't think that is an urban legend/misinformation. At least that used to be the practice. Years ago a friend of ours, highly qualified, wanted to be a vet but could not get into the schools. He became a doctor instead!
Much easier to be a human doctor apparently. 😕
When I applied to Uni, I scored high enough to become a doctor but not a vet. 😕
Wasn't interested in people.....

It's hard to get into here too, yet we still have avian specialists. When I was a kid, I needed 95/100 for year 12 high school to getinto vet science. I ended up working instead of going to uni (I earned my degree in my late 20s). Not sure what vet sci threshold is nowadays, but it ought to be quite high still.
Humans have language. It'd be much easier to diagnose himans than animals.
This is true with the added complication that not only are you dealing with different species but different families of species!

Such a lovely tax too. 🥰

It is 8F (minus 13C) and carrying fresh water out every few hours is getting tiring. The heated waterer is on its way. Can’t wait!
Here is sunrise over the Chicken Palace and my boiled eggs color coordinated with my kitchen cabinets - courtesy of one or possibly both road-runner-little-Princesses! Silly I know, but it gave me pleasure this morning.
