If they can do it......

.............so can we!

Hooray! Pasta for everyone!

I think @BY Bob you were correct, it was too hot in there for Lil' Queenie. I'm guessing it was above 75F, maybe it was 80F, and the sudden nature of that was a problem. Between the wood stove on the floor below that bathroom and the change in the weather the whole house got too warm. I opened the windows and then got the thermometer in there and it was feeling cooler and it was registering 72F still. Later it was 68F, then 65F and Queenie seemed much better, moving around more quickly, no panting, and doing some very vigorous scratching. This morning it's 59F-62F up here and she is acting normally. I have heard two "honks" from her, but she is doing soft clucks and calls when I'm near her, I think it is a happy sound, they have an upward, inquiring lilt to them. I am working at my PC up here and she is standing and sitting on the "doorway" perch watching.

I did make a video on my phone of the sounds she was making yesterday, it is 215 MB big, I found there is a video editor I want to try in my PC to shorten it, but the only way I could think of to get it to my PC was to put it in Google Drive, and it has been uploading since yesterday afternoon and it is at 135 MB loaded so far. We have kind of crappy internet with very slow upload and okay download. I have a data cable to USB that doesn't have the new symmetrical phone plug unfortunately.

Here she is hanging out and watching

That’s such a cute photo. :love

I had a dream like that several months ago, it was awful! My son had a bad dream a few months ago about the chooks. He wouldn’t tell me about it but he wanted me to check they were ok!
Anxiety dreams are the worst, sorry you both had one but thanks for sharing. It is comforting to be understood and not be alone.
What an absolutely horrible dream. I could not go back to sleep if I had one of those. How awful. :hugs
Yep, it's usually time to get up and check on the chooks after one of those.. 😰

So glad you could sort it out and she sounds better CB. :clap
Looks like you are taming her at the same time. Soon she will be sitting on the back of your chair looking over your shoulder like Shad's chooks do. 😁

Nope, not chickens. I'll pay up tomorrow.:D
It's a concert in Barcelona.

I must confess to looking for people between the plants thinking that they were being used for social distancing. Then I thought that the audience might be hiding amongst the foliage. 🙄
The places my mind goes...🤪

I have some back taxes to pay... as usual and the chickens actually came out today! I think the lack of depth and the sunlight helped entice them

It is actually much colder tonight than it was during the day, because it was fairly clear... and the slush has melted down to a reasonable 3-6” in most places with a crunchy hard crust.

Sammy is still not sold on this whole Cold White Stuff, but followed some brave young pullets all the way to my trailer! I think he may have been enjoying the camouflage though!

Where the snow had compacted and frozen into a thin sheet of ice, several of the gils were slipping and sliding all over it. Watching them explore was very entertaining. I had to rescue several ladies that flew to the wrong side of a fence and found themselves “trapped” by the white stuff there including this little lady, who was ten feet from the open gate but needed a lift to get back to her flock. I love the red in her hackles and she loved perching on the warm arm instead of the S**w
