There's a problem. The chickens metabolism isn't of the type that has the occasional dump; they do it all day long and at night as well. I think anything with a crop is a constantly feeding and evacuating the system.

Roost over a litter box. Simple

I can make this work.

Broody hens sitting on eggs can manage once a day but I think that is part of why broodies trance. I can't imagine nature letting anyone sit for 23 hours dying for a crap.

My disciplines are English & history ~ not the sciences! I don't do particularly well in philosophy either... Poultry keeping is a science. Sometimes I struggle.

I like to think we would have litter trained them by now. Just saying.

If you could toilet-train a chicken, I would make sure they go in the garden and not all over the path!
