Thank you. I'm afraid I'm rather notorious for choosing pretty over practical. These are my newest additions. A SLW frizzle; a GLW, a Vorwerk; 2 Japanese Bantams; a Belgian frizzle & an Aracauna X frizzle. they are all very sweet.

I've tried googling the abbreviations without luck - what do SLW and GLW stand for?

ooooh - I am not going to read ahead because this is as close to knowing about breeds as I can get. They are Silver- and Gold-laced Wyandottes

Natural talent... You're the one who said internet issues ~ but as we don't really know I'm hoping you're right. My mind goes to killer hawks, murder in the main house, covid meltdown, chicken mayhem. Internet is sooo dull by comparison but would be a relief!

Hmmmmm, “murder at the main house” sounds tempting enough to me, but then who would take care of all my chickens? Who knew how complicated living the simple country life could get? Lol, I can completely see internet issues, and might be heading that way myself soon enough as well. I promise to give everyone a heads up and to check in whenever I’m able. Shad’s also far enough out in the country that it isn’t a hop skip and a jump to the nearest coffee shop with high speed internet too! Ah, the good old days when a free, unlimited high speed connection was just one London Fog or Americano away...

Nail bleeding is a PITA to try and stop... you’re probably best off finding it well after the break, it’s much less stressful that way I find. I clipped Roosties too short while trimming (because of his bumble they were getting too long, I don’t normally need to trim) and was Frantic, you can’t really apply pressure to it, letting it clot on its own is the only option unless you have a styptic powder on hand (cornstarch or flour don’t work as well as purported, I have tried both). Glad it was a minor issue, and not something less treatable. TBH, unless it looks quite severe, my leave well enough alone approach to minor injuries and bleeding has been far less stressful for everyone, chickens, husband, and self included.
