Shad, I hope so too, but still no luck. He can’t fly, and I found no breeches in the fence line anywhere on my property. It’s a great mystery. Not even a feather. I’m full of unwarranted emotions at this point. I LOVE THAT CRAZY BEAUTIFUL ROOSTER!:hit:th
:hugs :hugs

I've been doing what I can to make the coops dry. The plywood I bought for this coop was crap and the layers peeled away. I had to wait some time for the butile sheet I needed for the roof. I picked up 22mm thick OSB a couple of days ago. OSB is also hard to come by now.
As you can see, it's a bit damp but it's done at last.
This is Tribe 3's coop and it was leaking and damp.
That's Tribe 3 in the lower picture. They're a bit damp just like me.:D

I have a wonderful Butter update to share. Yesterday many times she stood up on her own and stayed standing for 10 to 15 minutes each time. She even tried walking, got up to 5 steps once before she had to sit down. But I think the most encouraging part was what she did yesterday evening. For the first time since her injury she laid a egg. I was soo afraid where she was in the middle of her laying cycle that one may have gotten broke inside her and a infection would set up. Butter is also getting daily massages and physical therapy to her leg and hip joint. She loves it but struggles if i try to massage her back so I do not push that issue. Pictures taken just a few minutes ago. Look at her expressions, her attitude is also coming back in spades. She may not be one of my beloved Marans, but I love this hen.

This is such good news!

Just managed to do Tribe 2's roof today and a few repairs before the rain really hammered down. Just the blue maternity unit you can see behind Tribe 2's coop to weather proof properly.
Got some rails up underneath the hay rack in the sheep field. Feeding locations is going to be a problem. I've suggested placing a feed tray under the hay rack. With the extra rails up the sheep can't get at the chicken feed and it's a favourite shelter spot for Tribe 1. Their coop is sound, as is Cillins mini coop.

I thought “the rain in Spain, stays mainly on the plain”. I’m kidding Shad. It’s an attempt to stay positive for my situation. Love your birds. :hugs

I've been looking though the articles I've written for BYC trying to decide whether to write any more. I did win a couple of prizes but most of what I've written doesn't fit into the more usual back yard orientated stuff. However, quite a few have made it into the Leaning Centre and given the topics, have ended up in the Maintaining A Healthy Flock section.
I was rather pleased to see that four of my articles are now on the first page.

I am particularly pleased to see Understanding Your Rooster has made it to the first page.:wee

Hello and almost good night for me.

I've been so very busy these last few days.
One project is fixing up an old bench which I have painted and my friend has been digging the ground to level up, of course my girls are helping enormously by scratching the soil back where it's just been dug. So my friend said after the fourth time, we'll leave it until the sand arrives and he couldn't stop laughing at my wayward girls throwing mud everywhere searching for worms and any roots they can get .

I have missed our fluffy thread but my heart is still here no matter how long I may be away :)
