There will be no run expansion. There is plenty of run. There will also be no lost run space. No one gets cornered now. There are roosts and places for them to get up. I am going to expand the porch this year but that will expand the available space only a little.
Do you mean the new coop is going to be basically outside the run with a door to the run? Have you any sketches you care to post?

You may have to pull her off the roost to see. Your roost is high enough that if can pick up her foot you should be able to see well enough. If you tap the back of her leg she should pick her foot up for you.

I would also check to see if her hip is swollen by feeling it and comparing it to the other. This is how I checked Lilly when she hurt her leg.
Tap the back of her leg? Really? I will give it a go!

(Works on horses, but I haven’t tried that with chickens)
She will lift her leg, when I tap behind the knees. (For hoof cleaning) this is Chaco, my friends horse.

Maggie has unusually clean feet and only a slight limp.
I think she may be like me (and probably other old ladies) in that she gets a bit achy and stiff in the mornings.
While giving her the foot bath (which I feel she could have been more appreciative of!) I did feel her hips and both sides felt the same.
She is now using both legs and her limp is still there but much less than this morning.
We will see what tomorrow brings.
