Clever, Adaptable, Phyllis

We all saw Phyllis issues trying to lay her egg in the prime nest. Phyllis has always preferred to lay her eggs in the yard. Well I caught her coming out of this old planter which we have on the deck. Yes, that is an old cookie sheet that somehow found its way over the end of the planter. 😳

What did I find when I looked inside?

I removed the eggs and placed a white ceramic one in their place. If she is clever enough to find this spot and gain herself some peace while laying, who am I to take it away from her. As long as I know to check there for her eggs.
Phyllis is very clever! She found herself a private shangrila. 🥰

Let's see, one hand to tap the leg, one hand for Phyllis to step onto and one hand to hold the camera. 🤔

I feel like I'm going to be short something necessary....
Well I'm wondering how high up the leg the tap should be. Just above their toes and on the foot proper, near the spur bump? Just on or below the ankle bone, which sticks out toward their back? Higher near the actual knee, pretty close to the body?

I've tried getting one to step backwards when they are standing in the pop door blocking others from coming in, with no success. I have ended up taking hold of each leg and lifting and putting it back, one at a time. Sometimes I get them to stand on my hand and wrist, then levitate them back, then taking and putting each leg off my hand and then down.

I have these and many other questions about this technique. Only video will satisfy! :lau
