Rough Coop Drawings

I took some pictures and drew on them so you can get an idea of what the Polish Palace (I am open to name suggestions) will look like.

It will be built into the big run but will be elevated 16 inches or more above the run so I do not lose any run space.

I am considering a porch on the end and a window either opening into the run or out through the run looking at the other coop. The nest box will stick out through the run to add space.

I am considering a flat roof to give more up space for the ladies to go up. I want the long wall in the run to either be removable or drop down for easy cleaning.

As you can see I already have inspectors showing up to investigate my plans. I will be working square footage calculations today to determine the size and dimensions.

You could have a lot of fun with consonants and name if after one of the Polish palaces

We are frying here. Heat index over 100°F for 3 straight days now. Everything is wilting.

What was holly hiding you might wonder. Over the weekend her chicks started hatching. She has 7, 1 of her own and 6 black silkies. The little marans chick is 24 hours older then its silkie siblings but is twice their size, they are so tiny.

OK - do we tap (from behind) somewhere on letter I, which I think is the foot bone, letter E (at the ankle joint I guess), or somewhere on the expanse of letter D's (shin?)bone, or, getting right up there at the knee and the chicken really wondering what's going on, somewhere around letter B, if we can get through all the fluff, and the chicken has stayed put?

I think it will be more fun for me to let you all figure it out.

Better Coop Plans

I have translated the photo drawings to graph paper and sent them on to my engineer for working up. Here are the graph paper drawings for your perusal. Please feel free to make any and all suggestions that pop into your head.
