I started at the beginning...with 4000+ PAGES (haven't counted posts per page). At page 1000, was 4400 pages behind. At 2000, was 3500(ish) pages behind. I find it's not as overwhelming to watch the date. I was almost 2 1/2 years behind. Now I'm only 9 months(ish) behind.342 posts behind..... I don’t have time now to catch up and I’m sure this will probably double but the time I do!

Late summer isusual but hens can moult at any time of year. Mostly the full moults happen late summer. This gives them decent feather condition for the winter.Mine are still too young to do a full molt (based on my reading...obviously not my own experience, so you know I'll be proven wrong!)
Is it normally a summer thing?
Here's mine.Automatic coop doors?
Anyone have one they love?
My area is humid and we get cold winters (almost as much snow as RC). I'd like a manual override and most definitely want one that doesn't crush a bird if she's being a brat and blocking the door.
I'm leaning to the ADOR1 model because it looks like it fits the needs and isn't scary to look at. The JVC one looks overly complicated.
We have power to the coop, so wired or battery operated is fine.
Would love your inputs!
I agree with this!Here's mine.
Put your overalls on, the feece lined ones, and go and lock them in manually.
I could never fully trust an auto closer. For a start it would mean that at roost time I would not be certain if all the chickens had arrived homw safely and gone to roost.
So sleek and beautiful.
