After so much dry hot weather (3 months without rain!) We have been dropped into fall. Temps are suddenly below average and we are having lots of grey days. Unfortunately I haven't put the new roof tarp on the coop yet, or finished the improvements I wanted to make before putting up the shower curtains for the rainy season. And we have a bunch of tomato plants that are convinced it is spring instead of autumn, so time to at least try and erect a tunnel for them. Sunny today, heading out once it warms up a bit, hasn't reached 50 yet.

The feathered legs, the shape of her tail feathers, the shape of her face and comb type.
I don't know much about these breeds and crosses so it's really only general interest.
OK thank you. Now I'm throwing in the towel and going with @RoyalChick. I'm pretty sure she's a chicken! :lau

This is so true. I've been sad since I finished the coop yesterday. One more cuddle tonight and then they start out on their own. 😪
You can still have evening cuddles, why not? I'll read ahead, but that routine would be a comfort to you both. Sit with them just outside the Hut for awhile. Did you set up a chair at least in there? :D Or a nice cot? :lau

The other option you realize is a larger indoor brooder.

Would work for a little while. :hugs :hugs

Yes, we have had a weird autumn. We have had multiple snowfalls which eventually melted, but today it's -7C/19 F. Funny how that seems cold today, but mid-winter would be a balmy day!:)
I know! Fall is really odd this time of year! Seems to get freezing, mid temp, rain. Hasnt snowed for us yet! But hopefully not to soon. Not looking forward to winter right now! :)
