The poop coop! This does look pretty small, i agree, but for those of you who dont know i freerange my chickens 3 acres + more. (Even though it matters less now cause its becoming winter) we are upgrading the coop soon! There is a dustbath inside, a mirror. A LOT of climbing activites + high perches, good ventilation but yes, we are insulating it for winter! A little behind the umbrella was their ACTUAL run that came was the coop, thats way to small! We are currently upgrading trying to have it much much larger! And when we get more chickens, we’re definitely gonna have to upgrade the nesting area To a grid. (And we have a park session right next to it! A perch, trampoline, many many perches, and a tree we are working on!)
Cute colors!

They are lovely ❤️!
I got an accidental Brahma due to a mix-up when I got my first chicks and I just love her! She isn't bossy, but isn't a pushover and knows her place within the pecking order... and she looks so darn cute when she runs! Hop...skip ...step! :love
That is good to know. Everything I've read say Brahma's are gentle giants, even the roosters so that is great as I tend to hatch or even pick out as chicks roosters. My personal preference for chickens is big, friendly, preferable feathered feet varietys. Add to that after having so many I've found black to be also a favorable color for me. My silkies are a happy accident, but they tick off all the criteria except for size. I'm looking forward to next spring. I want to see for myself if my silkie girls are as broody as everyone claims them to tend to be. Especially tiny Poppy. I have a hard time picturing that little girl being a angry broody, and then I have to laugh to myself picturing her trying to brood one of my large fowl chicks.

Welcome to Your New Home

😢
They look happy in there. You can still have your special evening time with them. I'm sure if you moved a lawn chair beside their coop they would still perch on your arm or you for a few minutes of cuddles. Or better yet, in the evenings bring them inside for a few minutes, have a towel handy and let them sleep in your lap for 1 tv episode of your choice. I'm sure Mrs BYBOB wouldn't mind. Who knows, she may insist that Phyllis is brought in to sit in her lap at the same time.

Well done. You are being very brave.
They are certainly good at scratching in the bedding!
I would think a house-warming gift would be appropriate. Some meal worms perhaps or a little branch to jump up and down on.
:love

Don't forget they have two cats the size of tigers in that house!

Hi folks. I’m at work, so need to catch up later (got through some last night, but fell asleep). Quick updates here:
  • Good thing I had tried tubing Flashy, as she had a large, firm crop this morning. Tubed ~15mL warm pedialyte, massaged crop a bit and repeated. I could hear her crop make those stomach growling sounds when I got things somewhat broken up. This might take a few days.
  • I received notification that Ruby’s body was received at UC Davis. I spoke with someone this morning and they think I’ll receive a prelim by the end of the week.
Cute colors!
Thank you! :)

Well you know me and black chickens. They are just gorgeous!!
Yes! We have a chicken that belongs to our neighbors named “Agnes” love her to bits, she gets secret feedings over here ;) (she gets permissions from the owner of course!) just healthy grains and fruits.
