I'm sorry, Michelle. :hugsYou've had a rough time of it this year.
Thanks, Ribh. Yeah, not my best year for chickens. I find it odd that all three chickens raised by Cashew have had health issues, more so than those raised by me. After Bob’s experience with his mail order chicks, I wonder if something happened when they were mailed to the feed store where I picked them up.

Hugs for you, Michelle:hugs:hugs:hugs. Ester is at least not in pain anymore...as I'm sure she was from the behavior /body language you described.

My prescription: spend some time this evening with your girls. They are probably missing Ester and could use your company...and you theirs. 🐔🐔🐓🐔🐔
Thanks. I will. But first I need to take my son to have some lab work done for his heart.

For those of you who can view facebook videos this has been going on for a hour. I've decided that while I could add more boxes on the porch, what's the point when they are all fighting over the same one. Holly is about to be thrown out if she does not leave on her own in a minute, she laid her egg 30 minutes ago and is just being a brat hogging the box.

Good timing! Usually how mine works ! My giant chicken that is very huge decides “lets lay a egg in the tinest seramas crate while shes laying an egg!”

i dont think ill be here for a while. I apologize. Im feeling absolutely disgusted with myself, a chick i own (and probably all my others) im confident has coccidiosis, and i waited to long, thinking it was some other issue. I apologize again. i was very ignorant to think she was alright. Sorry to bring it into a gloomy setting.
Don't be disgusted at yourself - learn from it. We all make mistakes. I am not knowledgeable enough but I believe it is treatable.
If they are very weak you can rescuscitate with electrolyte fluids with sugar like Nutridrench or Gatorade. Get a vet if you can.
