It dawned on me this afternoon when mom was asking what colors of chicks could we expect if we eventually hatch off Chiquita's eggs that I forgot to ask a VERY important question about her. I did not think to ask if she knew if she had showgirl silkies in her breeding. I do know that you can get showgirls if one parent is a normal silkie. I do not want showgirls, so I'm hoping that at least 1 parent has to be a naked neck.

Precious! They look different than BOTH my Buckeyes (different ages) did as chicks!

But the picture I posted they are 13 days old, yours look like less than a week. They do grow fast, don't they? I should note, Butters had wing feathers right off the bat and looked way older than the others. I wondered if she actually hatched a day earlier, or many hours at least, or grew the feathers in the egg.

Fluffy is a very useful chicken to have around. Daisy is my resident snake eater. I really do not want to know how many she has eaten, 5 that I know of. It has to be more because she has her technique for killing them down pat. She grabs them behind the head and gives a quick shake to pop off their heads. She eats the body and leaves the heads.
Wow... Yep that's a pretty good technique !!

I would think nothing but she does not eat it. I'm actually glad she does not as 4 of the baby snakes I've witnessed her eating has been baby copperheads. No mistaking them as they had the bright yellow on the tips of their tails.
A big WOW ! Good chickies!

I’m hanging in there. I apologize if I made anyone sad today. I do thank everyone here for being so supportive. FBF pic:
