Because, she is a LOOK DON'T TOUCH hen...and she will probably continue to bite if she even thinks you are thinking about touching her.

Why did I even bother to build one?

Here are a couple of videos left over from before Betty came to join us.

Invading The Hut
Phyllis was in the main coop when the invasion occurred. I think some hens were bored and needed someplace new to hang out. The raiders were enjoying themselves chatting away.

No. It really is that foggy. My path to the Chicken Palace turned overnight from snow to a lake and I can barely see where I am going. Tonight it will freeze so will be hard to navigate. The Princesses don’t seem to mind fog. There were three of them in that picture coming down the steps!

When it's half-3/4 frozen, toss some gravel, kitty litter, sawdust, wood shavings down it so it sticks out of the frozen stuff: traction. Don't worry about salt. If the temp drops below 25F, it's useless anyway.

Uh ho, little Coco is pancaking in this laying box. She’s got four eggs and one golfball under her at the moment. (I really don’t want her to be broody) time will tell.

She's not entirely serious yet. When her head is pulled back kinda like a turtle in a shell, then you know she's serious.
