One of her links was a 2.5 gallon one that looks a lot easier to work with. You should look at it. I probably will.
Ooooh. @bgmathteach genius! i had not noticed that it was smaller. I noticed the handle which is also a game changer!
It is pricey but with warmer nights coming, maybe there will be a sale.

Lilly Update

Sydney went with Lilly today for her second dose of doxycycline. Lilly is also on Metacam now. Once a day.

The culture results from her stool came back and were normal flora essentially. No salmonella which always surprises me. But my tribe has never had salmonella when cultured.

The entire tribe is now on probiotics as well. We will reevaluate her condition on next Wednesday. Hopefully she continues to improve.

Sydney and Lilly on their trip.

The hens at my house do well on their probiotics too.

I'm so glad everything is working out ok for Lilly!

When you turn it over it is real easy to get soaked. Before turning it over, look for where the water comes out and tip it so that portion tips over last. If that doesn't make sense, give me a call and I'll try and explain it better.
One issue I have is that the new one has two places the water comes out. It is like it has been specially designed to soak me. I am thinking of cutting a couple of pieces of cork to fit the opening (doesn't need to be perfect) so I can turn it over and then pull the plug and let the water out. I feel it should have been designed that way in the first place!

The temp dropped so fast last night that the chicken waterer was frozen when I went to bring it in around 10 pm. 27°f when j went to the store at 10 this morning. I think it got down to 17°f
They are saying 19° tonight. But at least it was sunny! I bought the girls some grapes yesterday.
I didn't think you should feed chickens grapes..? But then again I was told chickens shouldn't eat tomato plants - which my gang did boohoo wrecking my tomato yeild!

Thanks for the update I was wondering.

I am going to ask my Equine vet to see Henny Sat, I need to get some meds for my horse so may as well get her to look at Henny....

What sort of probiotics are you using ?

Ok I need some warm weather, so calling on my neighbours to the south to send me some nice warm humid gulf weather 😉

I am so done with with winter! My poor chickies took one look out the door yesterday evening and ran back inside squawking up a storm at me, as if I can fix the weather!!!! 😆

I am with you. Yesterday was like a tease. It was over 60 and sunny so the ladies and I had a grand old time outside. Now we are under another storm warning and it is snowing. I can hear the ladies making a racket and it isn't even light. They sound grumpy. Probably because it is cold again.

We are on an upward trajectory. Which I can't say has happened that often with any of my sick hens.

While it is costly I am thrilled to have the support of a vet that will have extended consultations with me and is unafraid to ask other experts. I can see why you love yours so much. It is a game changer.

If you can get this to work I'm interested. 😆

Mine eat grapes but I cut them as well. Watching Sydney swallow one whole freaked me out. I was worried she would choke!
