Very good observation on Flash. Poor girl is THE lowest in the pecking order.
I recognize her strategy - it is the same as my Minnie deploys - which is basically to duck and weave and be faster than anyone else so she is elsewhere before a serious peck really lands. Clever girls!

Hi, everyone. I have some catching up to do on the thread, as I did a girls overnight with two other moms and two of the daughters last night. It was so much fun, and the best part is that I had quality time with my daughter and after a couple years of really struggling, she’s now getting super excited about possibly going on to University someday. Fingers crossed! Anyway, some of you know that my Little Mill has been struggling. Here’s a little update.

I think it was worth it to get little Mil up and about. It's nice to see her moving. Let's hope that this movement results in more movement. She is such a sweetheart. 🥰

Awww. Love Little Mill, and so glad she got to wander around a bit. Flash seems to be being kept on her toes by everyone!
Reminds me of Betty or Phyllis. Everybody reminds them when there is good stuff about but they still get their share, sometimes more!

Ivy too! Last night she frightened herself. She was committed to launching from the arm of the Adirondack chair and couldn't change her trajectory when Peggy, having been pecked by Janet, ran into Ivy's path!

Ivy landed pretty much on top of Peggy and was mortified.

We're not that keen on those kinds of temps either.
Some of us flat out refuse to acknowledge that those temperatures exist… you will mostly find us on the west coast, and as southerly as we can get! 😂 or in Australia… which is starting to look a little more reasonable every time the evil white stuff lands here.

Lilly is a pro in the car. I'm absolutely certain that she loves to ride in the car. 👍👍
Be careful Bob… they can get way too comfortable in vehicles… turns out Arduinna can get through the little window between the truck cab and the canopy… and every time she sees one of her trucks she’s in it! Less fond of the Jeep’s, mostly due to moms driving… and then there’s the chickens here. Every Rooster believes the car is the best place to lay eggs, and as soon as a door opens they are trying all to get in. Next thing I know the chickens are going to be driving themselves to the feed store for corn and scratch, if they can figure out the ferry schedule!

Yes :love

Is she waiting for her dinner to come out of the oven?

Has anyone housed ducks and chickens in close proximity? I will finish the house for the silkies this weekend and the north side will adjoin the duck pen. In the yard they avoid each other but there's lot of space. I put up a wire wall between the two coops and due to the silkie coop being unfinished I temporarily covered that with 2 metal sheets. Should I leave the lower sheet on so they have no direct contact with each other?
