I was with OD the other day shopping for a friend of hers & she wanted a dozen eggs ~ which I could easily have given her for free if the girl had thought of it before we left home~ & I naturally went for the free range eggs & was quickly corrected because of the cost. Cost is still a major factor in getting people to change to free range. When funds are limited cost is a major priority. :(

To me, and this is just my priorities please do not think I am forcing my views on someone else, I would rather save a couple of bucks somewhere else. I understand why people by the cheaper eggs, but I equally feel that they have no idea what they are supporting.

It was hard for me to lock them in the coop while I hardened everything. I had to do it. But I did not like it. I love how much freedom I can give them now.

My company has banned all travel for at least the next 30 days.

Good news for the ladies, tons of free range upcoming.

Could be bad news for my marriage. I don't believe we're have spent 30 straight nights together in our 32 years of marriage. This is like a test run for retirement.

Who knows?

I may need to go see Eve and work from her house for a while.
I'm glad you will not be traveling and getting exposed.

My DH has been retired 2 weeks and the only complaint I have it how quickly my house is a mess and dirty!!!
In South Australia free range eggs are packaged with the number of birds per hectare clearly shown. When I buy eggs it's from a company with a low stocking density and lots of chook paddocks. The company is on Kangaroo Island where there are no foxes.
I LOVE that!!!! We need that here!!!

Good luck Bob and Mrs. Bob!🤣

I'm waiting for my work to close. We are non-essential medical. My boss is in his mid sixties and while he is healthy, his wife is concerned about him catching anything. I'm hoping she will convince him to close down. I could really use a 2 week vacation.

We're preparing to move all work online so folks can be isolated. My trip to Spain is off but I don't mind because I get to stay home with the chickens :D

I used a nylon string with a stick attached to the end, until the string frayed and broke. I’ll have to use something thicker.

Because two of my girls’ beaks are trimmed, cabbage is too tough so I use an iceberg lettuce. It’s soft enough that they can rip bits off and I can shove an apple corer down the middle. They love it!
Everyone here is so clever. An apple corer - I am sure I have one. And I definitely have coat hangers which is how @BY Bob does it. Now all I need is for the grocery stores to restock.

Good luck Bob and Mrs. Bob!🤣

Hopefully it will only be 2 weeks.
