Hahaha I hear ya!

Many years ago I would bring home eggs from a friend of mine, blue, green, pink - and my grandmother refused to eat them because they were not white or brown eggs AND because the hens ate bugs and such and the eggs must also have bugs in them !!
Wonder what she would have to say about my gals?!
Interesting when an older generation think that way - you would think they would be closer to when it was more normal to get eggs from the backyard or a neighbor's flock vs a big grocery store.

And my grandma had hens herself! And according to my mum was the one to kill and clean them for dinner!!!

Take your time on it, but keep your eyes and ears open. Maybe you'll run across something on Craigs list (or whatever the local equivalent is) or in the newspaper that just speaks to your heart.
Been looking on Kijiji, just saw a black pullet for sale which got me interested 💖 I sent a msg to see if still available.... Cheaper by the dozen right?

They want to get rid of her because she doesn't lay regularly and frequently gets broody! Haha I am used to this by now!

They can be intimidating. Particularly en masse.
I would like a trio. Two girls and one guy. That is enough for them to be protective, but not so many that they 'disengage' from the chickens. I've actually read that a single goose is best, but I don't think that is fair for the goose, so I won't intentionally have just 1.

I've read the same thing, think the same thing, and have a coworker who has lost all but 1 of her geese. She says he's moping about. She's getting more geese so he's not so sad, and he's with the chickens too.
