Electric fencing is awesome. And very entertaining with foxes and kids haha hahahahaha

Run 2 strands one about 6 inches off the ground the second one at 2 feet off the ground. Will also keep cats, dogs, racoons and coyotes at bay. Endless hours of entertainment with wildlife and kids 😁

You can get battery operated fencers or plug in ones. The one I have (original for the horses) is good for 25miles and 12,000volts 😲
Until you forget it is turned on and touch it yourself. Ouch!

So I still don't have a chicken coffee mug, but I am having coffee while Nevada soaks her feet.

I have to share my happy news.
Bernadette is standing ON BOTH FEET!!!!

I haven’t been posting much on her but she has lost most function in her right leg (the original problem was in the left leg). She could stand on her left leg but couldn’t put her right foot down to walk. So she would fall over and use her wing to propel herself forward. She developed sores on her right hock from landing and walking on it and I was beginning to lose hope.
I bandaged the sores and have strapped her leg in various ways to force the right leg into a more straight position. And I have been doing physical therapy so her tendons don’t shorten.
This has been going on for weeks and now this morning we are both rewarded by this! I cannot tell you how happy I am to see her standing on both feet.

I'm thrilled to read this. I'm soo happy for you and her. She may never be normal, but I think whatever happened to her to cause her problems happened young enough that she will adapt and her disability become her "normal".

Bunny gave me grief last night. I did not get out to round everyone up until right at dark due to having to fix dinner. I found everyone, except Bunny and Twig and George. I'm looking everywhere and can not find them. I decided to take a break from searching for a second to put Gryffon the cochin who is once again broody outside of Russ's stall up when I hear a peep. I start looking and do not see them. I hear a peep again and this time I spot her. She had bedded down in the corner of his stall and Russ had completely covered her over except her comb with hay. I also think Russ wanted them to stay there because when I bent over to retrieve them he headbutted me in the back and sent me head first into one of the stall boards. A lot of cursing was aimed at both Bunny and Russ and I have a bump on my head but they were scooped up and put in the coop. Where has she and the chicks spent the majority of the day so far, in that same corner of the stall.

LOVE the barrel bath. My guess is that at some point you had plans for planting in it!
:lau
I have 4...plans for planting all 4....and a battle every year unless I loop chicken wire around them, over, under, between....and what the chickens don't toss around, the deer EAT! Geraniums, petunias, chamomile, snapdragon (only sampled), bachelor buttons,....and perennials don't come back very well. The bachelor buttons and chamomile re-read themselves....if they're not tossed about/seeds eaten first....
