I feel like the worst chook-mum ever. :hit
It isn't your fault. You are a very good chook mum, and you have a vet that you can take them to. Unfortunately, it is part of our (in general, not specifically you or I) desire to have hens that produce a lot, push the bird's limits, and shorten their life span. Also a bit of fate in terms of other maladies.... you give your girls a wonderful life❤️❤️❤️❤️!

P.S. I just got a text from your girls. They said you gave them a GREAT life...until you locked them off the stoop and they can no longer 'knock' on the door for attention or treats.;)

Opinion: Aleve, works better than Tylenol for what’s ailing me. But it does seem to make me feel sleepy also.
Interesting observation. Aleve (naproxen) is awesome, it's my go to for migraine headaches and my aching arthritis, but it also irritates my gut so I can only take it about once a week ☹️.

Celebrex is another anti inflammatory med but it does diddly-squat for me. It works great for my mum and her sciatica tho, if you see your MD again you can ask for it. It's a Cox-2 inhibitor so not as irritating on the stomach and gut. It might work great for you too.

Pain control is an art and a science, each person differs in their reactions and efficacy of pain meds. After 4 years I have mine half arsed under control, I just need to remember to take it ha!!!!

Old age whining tax

It's a storm of wind here, horses and chickies are all freaked out and jittery. I kept the horses inside tonight - their hay would just blow away, and I closed up the West window in the hen house as the gals just wouldn't settle. Now they are happier.

Xzit is just hanging out in her box. Not much movement from her (is that the trance mentioned?) she needs to eat and drink! :bow
She is ok, this is normal.

I took Henny Penny off the nest once daily and gave her a nice mash (layer soaked in water to make a porridge), sometimes I cracked an egg in it.

What she didn't eat the otjers would.

She would also have huge smelly poop, and sometimes she would drink water. I was worried as I knew she was getting some fluids with the mash.

I’m glad you added the word ‘crazy’. :D
Aren't we all 🤗

I have a reputation as the crazy horse lady down the road who has chickens.... Not sure how my neighbours know these things I don't know them and rarely see them!!! (City people who move up here, last a couple winters and move back to city haha).
