I have no idea.

Perhaps they are correlating faceprints with purchasing habits in order to create a data asset they can sell to third parties?

In the story, the Bunnings person mentions theft - which I assume means they'll use the faceprints to assist police in investigating theft.

From my research, I know how unreliable faceprints are. They're nowhere near as reliable as fingerprints, for example. So I hope the cops don't go after the wrong people.

So weird. I can’t believe their theft problem is so bad and in any case the police already use facial recognition based on CCTV.
I think it is likely more about marketing - but even that doesn’t really need facial recognition. They can know what aisle I linger at by tracking my phone.
Strange indeed.

Oh and of course the rubber boots too 😉, this version has some awesome photo of nfld, love be the pics of Signal Hill were the first wireless communication signal was sent and received I n 1901 by Marconi.

Ah the music of my adopted people! I love it! :clap :clap :clap

That is very sweet of you - but be careful what you offer! Even the drive is tempting as the car’s A/C is gloriously functional!
The portable units are complicated. Really small ones are not designed for environments with high humidity. There are ones on wheels that would work but they are quite bulky and expensive - a couple of nights in a nearby motel might be a better option if it gets really grim.

And here is my A/C tax. Bernadette. I am obsessed with her mobility. This shot is a huge moment because she is stepping off the log with her right foot in the lead. That wasn’t possible for her a week ago!

Such a marvelous success story! You two have done so well. 🥰

? I don't find it sad at all.....?

Edit: If it was regarding your post about Daisy's pic, I read that you had NOT won a contest with the pic....that was why sad. Sorry if I mis-read...it is definitely a BLue Ribbon🥇 worthy pic!!
I won the guess when BYC will reach 145,000 threads contest yesterday. That's what I believe @Marie2020 was referring to.

Disturbing. Very disturbing.

I admit I feel some pride in her success. There were a couple of times when I nearly gave up hope and I did feel like most people would consider me rather foolish for doing the boots and the physical therapy and strapping up her hocks when they got caloused. But right now I am feeling it was all so worthwhile!
She is a beauty - I need to get some good pictures of her gold neck which is stunning - and as far as I can tell she is still the leader of the Hooligans tribe - they certainly follow her, so now she is more mobile and exploring they have all increased their range considerably.
So happy!
I have observed an interesting thing which is they have real strategies to avoid the Roadrunners - for example they are most active and wander furthest in the evening when the Roadrunners are chowing down on their pre-roost face-stuffing and therefore predictably at the feeder.
