Throw back, sure, but I am also now facing this dilemma, my free range gals have all figured out where I go, and where the mealie worms also may live... they stand on the steps and stare in, today one actually knocked on the closed outer door of the trailer. I opened the door and they perched on the threshold staring at the cats, and us. Considering they are better mousers than my cats, I actually considered maybe letting them have a sleep over in our “big coop”, but that’s a slippery slope indeed

Trust me it is a slippery slope. Maleficent was all the way in the big coop again yesterday, in the blink of an eye. A sleep over is out of the question. I might never get her out!

Oh man, Bob! That poor darling... I wonder if they reach just a bit too far for a sip... then slip..? I think it’s too inviting to resist..
I just love how they all panic when something happens though...
Now there's an idea I have been mulling over. At least a landing of some kind.

I just showed my husband Aurora in the pool and he wondered how she would get out if you weren’t there to rescue her? I think a chicken ladder is a good idea too!

I just googled Campines and noticed that they have similar markings to Barred Rocks on their bodies, do they have some Barred Rock in them? They are very striking.
No. They are a Belgium breed & quite rare [relatively speaking] They may have some Sebright in them. Something to do with the hen feathering trait.
